DESTINATION INFORMATION

Located in the heart of Galicia, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is one of Europe's most emblematic religious and architectural monuments, as well as the final destination of the historic Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James).

Begun in the 11th century on the site where the remains of the Apostle James the Greater were discovered, the temple is a masterpiece that combines architectural styles throughout the centuries. Its original Romanesque structure blends perfectly with Gothic elements and the monumental Obradoiro façade, an icon of the Spanish Baroque style. Inside, the magnificent Pórtico da Glória (Portico of Glory) and the impressive Botafumeiro, the famous giant censer that flies over the transept during special celebrations, stand out.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, the cathedral attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and visitors from all over the world annually, establishing itself as a universal symbol of faith, history, and cultural heritage.

Toxa Island

Famous for its thermal spas and mineral salt cosmetics, this island in the municipality of O Grove is a haven of tranquility and sophistication. Its most iconic element is the picturesque Chapel of San Caralâmpio, completely covered in scallop shells left by visitors, in addition to the surrounding pine forests and the iconic iron bridge that connects it to the mainland.

Lanzada Beach

With over two kilometers of fine sand and a protected dune ecosystem, Lanzada is one of the most impressive beaches in Galicia. Open to the Atlantic Ocean, it is a prime destination for surfing and water sports, also standing out for its archaeological and legendary value, with the castro and the hermitage of Our Lady of Lanzada at its end.

Siradella Viewpoint

Located at the highest point of the O Grove peninsula, this viewpoint offers a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view over the Rías Baixas region. From its summit and along its wooden walkways, it's possible to contemplate the entire Lanzada, the Island of Ons, the Umia-O Grove intertidal complex, and the immensity of the Atlantic.

Combarro

This charming coastal village in the municipality of Poio is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain due to its exceptionally well-preserved vernacular architecture. Its historic center stands out for the impressive concentration of stone granaries (hórreos) lined up along the seashore and the traditional crosses scattered throughout its narrow streets.
